Birmingham City University (BCU) has a well-deserved reputation as a vibrant and successful higher education institution. The University focuses on practice-led, knowledge-based learning, providing access to cutting-edge facilities and real-world experience

BCU asked Society to support its search for two full members to join its Board of Governors and three co-opted committee members to its Audit Committee, Finance Committee, and Human Resources Committee respectively. The following skills and areas of expertise were identified as particular priorities: Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Cybersecurity and Pensions.

After the closing date Society presented a varied field of 22 candidates from a range of sectors including finance, media and not-for-profit. 52% of candidates were from a BAME background, and 33% were from women.
