Board of Governor Appointments, Birmingham City University

Society is assisting Birmingham City University (BCU) to appoint two new members to its Board of Governors. These are exciting opportunities to contribute to the strategic direction and success of one of the UK’s most dynamic and diverse universities.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with professional expertise in either Finance or Cyber Security, who can bring both technical knowledge and strategic insight to the Board’s discussions and decisions.

As a Governor, you will work as part of a committed and collaborative Board, supporting the leadership of the University while also providing constructive challenge. You will help ensure that BCU continues to deliver for its students, staff and wider community, and that it achieves its ambitious strategic goals in an ever-evolving higher education landscape.

We are looking for individuals who:

• Bring significant experience in either Finance or Cyber Security
• Are passionate about BCU’s mission and the positive impact of higher education
• Understand the broader challenges and opportunities in the sector
• Have a naturally collaborative and inquisitive style, with the confidence to ask the right questions
• Are committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
• Can dedicate the necessary time and focus to the role
• May already have non-executive experience – though this is not essential
