Simon Lucas
Founder & Consultant
Simon is Society's Founder. From 2010 to 2023, he was the company's Chief Executive Officer, taking the business through B Corp certification and international expansion, and setting up our charity partner The Society Foundation as one of its founding trustees. Although he has since stepped back from the day-to-day running of the firm and the Foundation, he remains a Director and one of our lead consultants. He previously worked for the executive search firm Perrett Laver and for the global group Signium International.
Simon’s personal search track record is broad and eclectic. He has handled Chief Executive appointments for purpose-led businesses like re-wrap and MSL, for private members' clubs like the Athenaeum and the VSC, for charities like WAC Arts and the Young Women's Trust, and for education groups like UWC and the Aga Khan Schools. He is also highly experienced at Non-Executive appointments, advising clients as diverse as Alzheimer's Society, Birmingham City University, and the British Exploring Society.
Simon is a passionate believer in the ability of leadership to have a transformative effect on organisations, and in the potential for responsible organisations to have a transformative impact on the wider world. In his spare time he is Vice-Chair of Hitchin Girls' School in Hertfordshire.
Simon grew up in South Wales, and read Philosophy and Politics at the University of Warwick. Along the way, he was Head Boy of Olchfa Comprehensive School in Swansea, and President of Warwick Students’ Union.
