Colin McKinnon has been appointed as Managing Director of Enscite, a new organisation that has been set up to focus on providing innovative supply chain solutions for SMEs in the transport engineering sector. The venture is a joint collaboration between Derby City Council, University of Derby, Aston University and Cranfield University, and has been formed as part of a wider local strategy aimed at building on the engineering heritage and reputation of Derby, which includes a new Innovation Centre and 250 acre manufacturing and technology focussed business park. The ambition is that by 2020, Enscite will have built a national centre for supply chain innovation centred around the new park.

Colin previously worked at NERC, a leading scientific research organisation, where he was a Board director responsible for innovation and communications. Prior to that, he spent several years as Innovation Director for the highly respected international engineering consultancy, Buro Happold.

Colin commented:

"The opportunity to lead a new joint venture – Enscite – was just the sort of challenge I was looking for. The founders had great ambitions for the future and were all fully committed to invest in its success. Society were excellent to work with and the recruitment process was handled quickly and smoothly with just a few weeks from start to finish.’’
