Head of Fundraising Appointed at Challengers

For 45 years, the charity Challengers has pioneered spaces where disabled children and young people experience the freedom of play, friendship, and inclusion. These are essentials that every child deserves, but demand for Challengers' play and youth services has never been higher, even as public investment has become severely squeezed. Fundraising activity has therefore steadily grown in importance for them over recent years.

We have partnered with Challengers to search for a new Head of Fundraising and we are delighted to share that Marie Hounslow has been appointed to the role. She will report to the Chief Executive Officer and be a key part of the charity’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Using an insight-led approach, Marie and her new team will develop Challengers' key audiences, deliver excellent stewardship, and begin the proces of turbo-charging their fundraising. 

Marie worked at WWF for 17 years and later became Director of Fundraising and Communications at Renewable World. She joins Challengers from Orchid Cancer Appeal, where she was also Head of Fundraising.
