Saskia Loer Hansen, the current Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) at Aston University will be joining the Board of MSL as a Non-Executive Director.
Membership Solutions Ltd is a private company, spun out of the University of Warwick Students’ Union in 2004. It was formed in order to develop, sell and administer a technology platform that Warwick Students’ Union originally created for its own use, and now has circa 100 clients, including almost 90 students’ unions.
Through this non-executive appointment, MSL sought an education sector leader with strategic knowledge of how technology and digital solutions can support student organisations to enhance the student experience. Saskia’s international, partnership-building experience within higher education will be a real asset as MSL develops its platform and explores new geographical markets.
Saskia is currently PVC International at Aston University, and previously held strategic partnership, performance and international roles at RMIT University in Australia. She brings over 20 years working in Higher Education roles across the world.
Saskia said of her appointment:
“I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to join the Membership Solutions Ltd Board as a Non-Executive Director. I am passionate about higher education and believe that student participation and engagement with their experience at University is incredibly important. MSL's platform solutions enable Student Unions to better engage with a diverse student community and to use different ways of stimulating student participation while they study at university. I find the MSL business focus really important, not least at a point in time where the sector is discussing the value add and return on investment for students in studying at University.
On a final note about the recruitment process: Megan and the broader team at Society have been supportive, encouraging and just incredibly professional through the entire process and I have been very impressed by the quality of Society's engagement.”
