Victoria Ryder joins Relate as Fundraising Officer from her role as Grants Officer for a small NGO in Arusha, Tanzania.
Relate is a national charity which aims to support the nation’s relationships. This is done by providing high quality, inclusive services and by raising awareness with public and policymakers of what makes effective, healthy relationships. Relate is implementing its new five year strategy which will see the charity attempt to position itself more overtly as a preventative agency, providing general support and training on relationships, as well as counselling for young people, individuals, couples and families with significant problems.
Society assisted Relate in this search by conducting an extensive search throughout the UK and beyond, contacting mid-level fundraisers from a range of not-for-profits.
Victoria was most recently with The Umoja Centre in Tanzania, a role which saw her secure funding from Trusts, Foundations and Major Donors through a combination of effective networking, proposal writing and sponsorship. Graduating from the University of Aberdeen in 2004 and subsequently completing TEFL training, she taught English in Japan, Thailand, and to Iranian and Chinese employees based in Aberdeen. Now based in Tanzania, this opportunity with Relate will see Victoria bring her expertise back to the UK.
