Angelina Bingley has been appointed as the new Director of Admissions, Recruitment and Marketing at the University of East Anglia (UEA).

Angelina has 20 years’ experience working in marketing roles in a variety of organisations, from publishing houses to a FTSE 100 company. For the past nine years she has worked at the University of Southampton where she is currently Head of Strategic Marketing, with responsibility for both the UK and Malaysian campuses.

"Higher Education is becoming increasingly competitive and those universities that are going to be successful in this new era need to take a far more strategic view of marketing and branding and their important role in driving growth, both in terms of student numbers and income,” said Angelina. “It is this focus that I will bring to UEA and I am very excited about building on the great things they are doing already in this area."

Angelina led the University of Southampton’s successful rebrand five years ago and last year won a Gold HEIST Award for the 2012 undergraduate marketing campaign.

UEA Registrar and Secretary Brian Summers said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Angelina to the University of East Anglia amid the excitement of our 50th anniversary year. Her extensive experience in strategic marketing and branding – in higher education and beyond - will play a pivotal role as we build on recent league table successes to consolidate our position as one of the UK’s leading universities.”

She begins her new role at UEA on September 1st 2013.
