Victory Services Club (VSC) in London appoints a new Chief Executive Officer & Club Secretary

Colonel Colin Francis CBE has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer & Club Secretary of the Victory Services Club (VSC) in London. He takes over from Air Commodore Nigel Beet CBE, who was also Chairman of the Association of London Clubs from 2019 to 2022.

The VSC has a rich 116-year history of promoting esprit de corps and of relieving need, hardship and distress amongst serving and retired members of the armed forces and their families. It has a strongly inclusive ethos, and a uniquely diverse membership, which is tri-service (British Army, Royal Air Force, and Royal Navy) and embraces all military ranks and ages. As a registered charity, revenues generated by the Club are re-invested in order to improve the facilities for its members, who lie at the heart of everything it does. It also provides free membership for serving personnel and hosts over 400 service personnel and their families per year for Respite and Welfare Breaks, or Reward and Recognition Breaks. The Club has a membership of over 61,000 and employs around 140 staff.

Society reached out to experienced Club Secretaries and General Managers across the UK and international private members club landscape and the wider hospitality arena, as well as to retired military leaders in other sectors.

Colin Francis emerged as the successful candidate after a robust and thorough appointment process. As a former RLC Regimental Colonel, who has been working in the Oil and Gas industry for the last three years, he possessed a helpful balance of tri-service insight, alongside proven commercial leadership ability.
