Pall Mall’s iconic Travellers Club appoints new Head of Front of House

Alice Garbuio joins The Travellers Club from St James Hotel and Club in Mayfair where she managed Front Office for the luxury property.

The Travellers Club was founded in 1819 with the founding ethos to establish a meeting place for like-minded gentlemen who had travelled abroad, and where they could also entertain foreign visitors and diplomats posted to London. It remains one of clubland’s most well-known clubs to this day.

Society was invited to find someone suitable to join the leadership team, managing the Front of House department. Experience in luxury hospitality, with management expertise in a front office context was required. Knowledge of prestigious London institutions will be advantageous and so we searched the cities top clubs and boutique hotels for skilled individuals who understand the expectations of traditional luxury hospitality.

During an extensive proactive search for strong candidates, Alice stood out for her passion and personality. Her interest in genuine hospitality and high-touch care for guests was evident in her attention to detail and consistently warm communication. We are delighted to have found someone so well-suited for this niche position.

When asked about the appointment, Alice shared: "I am thrilled to be joining the Travellers Club as the new Head of Front of House. When learning about the opportunity I knew it was something worth pursuing. The Travellers Club has such a rich history and I look forward to becoming part of it.

I would like to thank the team at Society for a smooth and seamless recruitment process. George has updated me regularly without being intrusive and I have had the most courteous calls from him."
