Lay Director Appointed to the Board of NUS UK
New Lay Director appointed to the Board of NUS UK, one of the two governing bodies of the National Union of Students.

We were delighted to partner with the National Union of Students (NUS) earlier this year on a programme of Board appointments. NUS comprises two closely connected entities: NUS UK, which leads national student voice campaigns, and NUS Charity, which works to strengthen and develop students’ unions. While legally distinct, the two organisations operate side by side, united by a shared mission to empower students and create positive change.
Following an extensive process, Osai Ojigho has been confirmed as a new Lay Director for NUS UK. She will be bringing her expertise, fresh perspective, and strategic insight to support the organisation in enhancing its impact, operational effectiveness, and financial sustainability.
Osai is currently Policy and Campaigns Director at Christian Aid. She commented:
“I am elated to join NUS UK as a director on their board and contribute to their policy, advocacy and campaigning work within this historical and important student movement. This is an opportunity for me to combine my interests in education, youth mobilisation, and leadership, and to work closely with such committed and inspiring leaders united in collective action for social justice.
Inspired by the words of Margaret Mead: 'Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world,' I am honoured to be joining such committed individuals on the path to transcend demands of the education model into meaningful life and future opportunities for all.
The team at Society and my focal point Usma were super helpful and patient in answering all the questions I had about the organisation and the recruitment process. I give them 10/10 for persistence, professionalism and enthusiasm throughout my engagement with them and with NUS UK.”
