Independent Non-Executive Directors, Wilkes Academy

Wilkes Academy is entering an exciting new chapter in its governance, having formally transitioned from a founder-led to a Board-led model.

As part of this evolution, we are supporting the appointment of three Independent Non-Executive Directors, bringing complementary expertise and independent challenge to the Board.

We are particularly interested in individuals with experience across three distinct areas:

Finance, Audit & Risk A strong financial and commercial understanding, with the ability to scrutinise accounts, oversee financial controls and risk management, and contribute to the work of the Audit & Risk Committee.

Higher Education Experience and understanding of the UK higher education regulatory and governance landscape, including the OfS regulatory framework, higher education governance and the student experience.

Business Operations & Professional Services Senior-level experience in organisational strategy, business development and operational performance, with the ability to assess plans, challenge constructively and oversee sustainable, income-generating activity.

These appointments offer an opportunity to contribute independent expertise and challenge as Wilkes Academy continues to develop its governance and future growth.
