Christian Aid - Head of Governance, Compliance, & Risk

Package:

£82,217 per annum plus package

Location:

London, hybrid

Deadline:

Wednesday, 25 November

Christian Aid is a global movement of people, churches, and local organisations. Our mission is eradicating poverty, standing together in solidarity with our most marginalised global neighbours, of all faiths and none. Poverty is an outrage against humanity. It robs people of their dignity and lets injustice thrive.

Our partnerships with institutional funders, trusts and foundations enable us to deliver our programmes, with almost half of our funding coming from these supporters. We work with some of the world's most vulnerable communities in 29 countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean. When emergencies strike in these countries, we are there before, during, and after to save lives and support people in the long term. We also work in other countries and regions through the ACT Alliance and our other partners, particularly around humanitarian emergencies such as the refugee crisis.

We are currently seeking a Head of Governance, Compliance, & Risk who, working closely with the Board and senior leadership team, will provide strategic advice, strengthen organisational resilience, and protect Christian Aid’s reputation and integrity, while leading a team that embeds best practice, accountability, and continuous improvement across a complex international charity.

Candidates should hold a professional qualification in law, accountancy, audit, or corporate governance, and bring extensive experience in UK charity and corporate governance. Advanced understanding of legal frameworks and exceptional analytical skills will be essential. A background as a legal counsel, and experience working in a global context, would be highly advantageous.

The Head of Governance, Compliance, & Risk will be based in London, on a hybrid basis.

Applications should consist of a CV and covering letter, and these can be uploaded below. The deadline for receipt of applications is midday GMT on Friday, 25 November.
