Christel House International appoints their first Chief Talent and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer

Ana Paula Buzo becomes Christel House International’s first Chief Talent and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer.

Christel House was founded in 1998 to serve children from severe poverty. Today it serves over 7,000 students and graduates worldwide through schools in India, Jamaica, Mexico, South Africa, and the United States. Other than its four schools in Indianapolis, which are public charter schools, Christel House schools are no-fee private schools. Christel House starts with a strong K-12 academic curriculum and adds character development programming to instill independence, integrity, social responsibility, and leadership.

The Chief Talent and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer role is a new role in the global leadership team that will focus on developing and improving the human resources systems and processes throughout the organization and will serve as a leader regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion as they continue to expand.

Society assisted Christel House in this search for a senior HR professional in an international search that could lead the talent and DEI functions at CHI. After a thorough process, Ana Paula Buzo became the successful candidate. Ana Paula has over a decade of experience in both HR and Education in her native Mexico. Her most current role was as Talent and Culture Manager for Christel House Mexico. Ana expressed the following:

“To be part of an organization whose mission I am passionate about and having a position that seeks for our people to have a positive and thriving experience makes me feel so thrilled! I have been at Christel House Mexico for more than 3 years and today I have the opportunity to contribute globally, in an exciting moment for our organization as we are starting our expansion to be able to broader our impact to more students experiencing an impoverished situation and, at the same time seeking to enhance our culture through a more diverse team, so our differences complement us and we can all learn and grow within and with the organization It is a great challenge, but becomes easy but when you do what you love and believe in what you are working for.”

We wish Ana Paula the best of success in this new and exciting role, and we look forward to seeing all the great things she will achieve.
