University of Derby appoints new Business School Dean

The University of Derby have appointed Dr David Russell as the Dean of the College of Business. In his new role, David will have responsibility for the academic, commercial and reputational activities of the College.

David joins from De Montfort University, where he has been Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law. He has extensive experience of Higher Education and has held institutional wide responsibilities for student engagement including the National Student Survey.

Formerly the Head of the Department for Accounting and Finance, which was one of the largest of its kind in the country, David's research interests lie in taxation, sustainability, CSR and carbon emissions.

He will take up his new post in September 2015.
