UK's leading feline welfare charity hires new Director of Fundraising
Cats Protection has appointed Lewis Coghlin to take the lead on their fundraising activity. Lewis has spent most of his career working for major charities, from Help the Aged, to the British Red Cross, to Action Medical Research.
He is now joining the UK’s leading feline welfare charity, responsible for re-homing 55,200 cats and kittens each year through a network of 256 voluntary-run branches and 29 adoption centres. Established in 1927, Cats Protection now finds homes for cats in need, promotes the benefits of neutering and provides resources and is an invaluable source of advice on cat care.
Historically, Cats Protection has relied heavily on generous legacy funding, however in recent years the charity has made a concerted effort to diversify its funding, tapping further into a range of other sources including subscriptions, donations and commercial income. Lewis is coming on board to devise, develop and implement a new and effective fundraising strategy to drive this activity forward, leading all involved in the delivery of that strategy to secure the funds needed for the charity’s work.
