Rob Careless is appointed as the University of Derby's new Deputy Registrar

Society were pleased to work with the University of Derby recently on the appointment of Rob Careless, who will soon take up the post of Deputy Registrar and Head of their Corporate Intelligence Unit.

Rob has spent the majority of his career working in the police service, and has most recently been at the Derbyshire Constabulary, where he was Deputy Head of Corporate Services and Head of Planning and Performance. He is due to join the University of Derby in mid-November.

In his new role, he will lead Derby's freshly formed Corporate Intelligence Unit and work closely with the Registrar, June Hughes. His own remit will play a pivotal part in overseeing the delivery of an integrated planning and business intelligence service to support the University in fulfilling its strategic goals.

The University were keen from the outset that Society's search should extend beyond the HE sector, and Rob's experience and skill set in the police force marry well with the post he has been appointed to.

We wish him every success.
