Moreton Bay Boys’ College in Brisbane appoints Jaime Thistleton as Deputy Head of Primary

Jaime Thistleton returns to Australia to join Moreton Bay Boys’ College (MBBC) where she was Vice Principal at Alice Smith School in Malaysia. Jaime has two decades of educational leadership experience spanning the UK, Australia, and latterly in Malaysia.
MBBC is an independent, innovative boys’ school in Brisbane. They are an accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) World school with a globally focused curriculum and learning programmes tailored to the individual needs of each student. MBBC were seeking a dynamic, dedicated and passionate individual to support the Head of Primary. MBBC has a strong philosophy of educating the whole person – body, mind, heart and spirit. This supporting role will be tailored to the strengths that Jaime possesses in teaching and learning and in pastoral care.
Society was engaged to find dynamic, dedicated and passionate individuals from around globe to support the Head of Primary with a focus on either Student Wellbeing or Teaching and Learning, ideally with experience delivering the internationally benchmarked IB programme in the Primary years (PYP). We kept our focus open to any specialisation or experience across curricular, wellbeing or sport. We expected the leader to think strategically and be able to deliver plans and goals. We sought those who came across as authentic, with a team player mentality, expressing a desire to provide servant leadership, being humble, smart, passionate and proactive in finding solutions.
Jaime has a firm belief in the importance of building relationships of trust and aspiration with all members of the community as a basis for nurturing outstanding teaching and learning partnerships, a sense of belonging in all, and improved academic success. Jaime is also an accredited coach and coach trainer and has a passion for developing others through the power of coaching and positive education.
