Vice Principal Academic

Package: Salary will be competitive with market rate and negotiable depending upon experience
Location: Europe - Cheltenham, UK

Cheltenham Ladies’ College is looking to appoint a Vice Principal Academic to join its dynamic and forward-thinking leadership team in September 2023.

College is one of the largest school communities of boarding and day girls in Europe, having first opened its doors in February 1854. Today, this pioneering heritage is honoured whilst leaning imaginatively into the needs of a complex and changing world. A warm and inclusive pupil community is supported by a large and dedicated staff body, occupying a 36 acre dispersed campus right in the heart of the town, with a teaching staff of around 150 (part-time and full-time) and a pupil body of 880 from over 40 countries.

This is a wide-ranging senior role, with overall delegated responsibility from the Principal for learning, and for the academic teaching, enrichment and extension programmes. Commitment to personal development in their pupils is mirrored by their commitment to developing staff.

This position presents the opportunity to participate in strategic whole-school thinking and engage with sector wide developments. As College looks towards continuing its success whilst broadening its reach, there will be opportunities to contribute to long term innovation and planning, and applications are welcome from colleagues with experience in both independent and maintained sectors, as well as in countries other than the UK.

The post holder will play a full part in all aspects of life in this busy boarding and day community, leading by example as regards commitment to College’s aims and values, striving to enhance provision and supporting staff through maintaining standards of excellence in all that they do.
