The University of Exeter’s Law School appoints two Professors

The University of Exeter has an ambitious and dynamic Law School with a strong focus on both delivering a world-class education for its students and for producing outstanding research across the spectrum of legal knowledge and activity.

The Law School came to Society out of an eagerness to enhance the depth and range of its expertise in the fields of both commercial and international commercial law. We were asked to help them find two outstanding individuals who can lead and develop the School’s research and education in these important areas of the law. The University has developed a new Research and Impact Strategy to harness the enthusiasm, energy and expertise of its exceptional community of researchers and scholars and to ensure it provides them with the best support for their research – in particular those engaged in cross-disciplinary research and those working closely with business and external partners.

We conducted a UK wide search, and also reached out to a number of British expatriates abroad, positioning these roles as a great opportunities for talented academics to develop further their research portfolio, to contribute to education leadership and research-led teaching in their chosen field, and to enhance further Exeter’s expertise in delivering a quality experience for all its students.

The University ultimately appointed Dr Clair Gammage from the University of Bristol and Dr Mimi Zou from the University of Reading, both of whom are due to join Exeter in professorial positions shortly.

We wish them every success in their new roles.
