Society handled the appointment of Lucie Stangl as Senior Development Manager at Compassion in World Farming

Lucie Stangl has been appointed as Senior Development Manager, a newly created role, at Compassion in World Farming.

Compassion in World Farming is a global campaigning organisation with a vision to end factory farming by 2050. It works globally with food industry companies and policy makers, as well as carrying out detailed scientific research on a variety of issues ranging from farm animal welfare to climate change to food shortage.

Society conducted a search that spanned the wider Not-For-Profit sector, focusing on charities and campaigning organisations that address animal welfare, wildlife conservation, and sustainability. Within the education sector, we targeted agricultural colleges and other institutions with strong veterinary or agricultural programmes. Finally, we also looked within the private sector, particularly at those in the food industry.

Lucie Stangl has worked for the last six years at World Horse Welfare, after completing a degree in Equine Sciences. As Major Gifts, Corporate and Events Officer, she was responsible for raising funds for the organisation’s domestic, international and campaigning work with the aim of improving horse welfare worldwide.

Lucie commented,

"I am excited to be joining the excellent team at Compassion in World Farming at a crucial time for fundraising growth to ensure the protection of farm animal welfare. This is important step in my career which also aligns with my values; a rare opportunity to seize with both hands.

I am appreciative to Society for presenting this role to me. Shehrazade was very conscientious and supportive throughout the whole process and really helped me to highlight my skill set effectively."

Lucie begins in post on the Tuesday 2nd January 2018.
