New Director of Engineering joins Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort in Malaysia
Society partnered for the first time with the high-end resort, hotel and spa group, Shangri-La last year. Our engagement was with Shangri-La's elegant Rasa Ria Resort & Spa, Dalit Bay Golf & Country Club in the gorgeous Tuaran district of Sabah, Malaysia. We assisted in the appointment of a Director of Engineering to take on the Engineering and Grounds-Keeping departments for the extensive property and estate.
Shangri-La’s Ria Rasa Resort & Spa is a luxurious resort on Pantai Dalit Beach. Part of the Shangri-La Resorts brand, the hotel and resort includes 499 rooms split in to two wings, with an Ocean view or Garden view, five Food & Beverage outlets, a spa, two pools, a championship golf course, a private beach, and many other facilities, including a beautiful nature reserve.
We needed to find someone to be responsible for the general administration of the Engineering Department, including proper maintenance and repair of all buildings, fixtures, fittings and equipment, as well as technical improvements, preventive maintenance, and utilities consumption control.
Delightfully, we found Vener Sicat, who was the Director of Engineering at the renowned 5-Star Resort Hotel, Dusit Thani Guam Resort and approached him to discuss this exceptional opportunity. He has now taken the reigns and is enjoying the start of his career with Shangri-La.
