Médecins Sans Frontières HK hires Director of Communication and Engagement

 

 

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) provides medical care where it is needed most, currently in nearly 70 countries worldwide. Following successful partnerships with MSF Australia and MSF USA, MSF Hong Kong approached our team to about this important strategic hire.

The Director of Communication and Engagement leads MSF-HK’s focus on building a cohesive communication and engagement strategy able to attract and influence humanitarian aid across the Hong Kong, Mainland China, South East and East Asia Pacific Region.

Our search focused on engaging cross-sector, strategic communications leaders with understanding of Hong Kong’s wider socio political ecosystem. We had to gauge those well equipped to deepen MSF HK’s communication effectiveness and fundraising relationships across the region.

The successful candidate, Shirley Choy, joins from the Hong Kong arm of Novartis, a global healthcare company. A former journalist, Shirley impressed with her strong media and strategic communications experience from the healthcare space.
