GLAAD appoints their first Vice President of Marketing

Raymond Dooley has been appointed as GLAAD's new Vice President of Marketing.

GLAAD is an American nonprofit organization that was founded in 1985 by a group of journalists that were against how the media was portraying the AIDS pandemic in the United States. Since then, GLAAD has become the largest LGBTQ+ media advocacy organization in the nation. The organization monitors to ensure that LGBTQ+ people are being portrayed fairly and accurately. They also serve as consultants for organizations and companies to advise on the best ways to reach the community. Additionally, they are responsible for the GLAAD Media Awards, which honor those who are committed to fair and accurate representation of LGBTQ+ people and issues in different media channels.

Society was retained by GLAAD to search for their first Vice President of Marketing. The brief included finding a candidate that had over 10 years of experience in marketing communications, from both for profit and nonprofit organizations, that could help them lead everything from digital marketing to website and SEO, and that could bring leadership to the team. We searched throughout many organizations, focusing mostly in the New York City area.

The successful candidate was Raymond Dooley. He brought many years of experience in the media that included brands like iHeartMedia and Roku.

We wish Raymond the best in this new role.
