City University appoints communications professional to head up their stakeholder and influencer communications
Simon joins City this month as Head of Communications and Events. He previously handled corporate media relations for Imperial College London and worked in the communications team at Birkbeck, University of London.

Our search to identify high-performing, innovative communications professionals spanned higher education institutions in the UK and Ireland, the private sector in the London and Greater London areas, central government departments, and the health service. The final candidate list included individuals from leading Russell Group institutions, government agencies and other research-intensive universities.
Simon graduated with a BSc in Ecology from Lancaster University and began his career in publishing, as a Science Editor for Pearson Education. He spent three years working for the European Commission in Science and Technology PR before making the move in to Higher Education. He holds a postgraduate diploma in PR from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
